Yes, RentRate is completely free for renters.
No. Bids on RentRate are non-binding. Even if your bid is accepted, you still need to sign a lease with the landlord to formalize the agreement.
Yes. You can submit bids on as many listings as you like simultaneously. If you accept a lease elsewhere, you can let other landlords know by messaging them.
You'll receive a notification. From there, coordinate with the landlord via messaging to arrange the lease signing, deposit, and move-in date.
Bid editing is not currently supported. If you need to withdraw or update your offer, send the landlord a message to let them know.
You must have a complete profile (name, email, and phone number) before bidding. Check the Profile tab and fill in any missing fields.
Landlords can see the name, email, and phone number on your profile when they click to view your renter profile from a bid. Your information is only visible to landlords whose listings you've bid on.
RentRate is currently free to use for landlords. We'll communicate any future pricing changes in advance.
No. Renters communicate with you exclusively through the in-app messaging system until you choose to share your contact information directly.
No. Accepting a bid on RentRate signals your intent to rent to that person, but the binding agreement is the lease you sign separately. Always follow your local landlord-tenant laws.
When you accept a bid and mark the listing as Filled, the other pending bids are automatically declined and those renters are notified.
Yes, there is no limit on the number of listings you can post.
Renters browse the marketplace on RentRate and can filter by location, price, bedrooms, bathrooms, and pet policy. Your listing appears to all renters on the platform.
Yes. Pausing a listing hides it from the marketplace but preserves all existing bids and conversations.
